Stop the madness!

Welcome to the first total body nourishment post! I hope to be updating this blog regulary with information regarding nutrition, fitness and reaching your health goals.

Just in the last few days i have come across a few people doing the shake diets. This makes me so sad and very mad at the same time. I realise when you sign up to these things you are in a state of desperation and just want the weight to come off fast.

This is torture for your body! It's madness that this is going on. It's no way to live life, even for a few weeks. Our bodies are designed to eat, not be deprived!

How about giving yourself permission to nourish your body with healthy, fresh, unprocessed foods and also including those foods that you love but have been told are 'bad' for you. The more you restrict your favourite foods, the more you will want them.

Learn to listen to what your body wants. Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are satisfied and eat what you will really enjoy. Your body is so smart, it'll tell you what you need, when you need to eat and how much.

Please, please, please - take a look at what you are doing to try and lose weight. Make sure it involves nourishing your body NOT depriving yourself and make sure you can do it longterm!
